Wayne and Camille came to see us over Spring Break. We had Korean BBQ, went golfing, played at Lake Mead, and went to the Las Vegas Zoo. The zoo was hilarious, but the kids LOVED it. They had a petting zoo and TONS of birds to feed. We love spending time with Gargo and Papa!

Sami and Ryan came to visit and we hiked Lone Mountain and Red Rock! It was so much fun to have them visit.

The kids and I have been playing Tennis and they get better every time we go.

We went to Star Valley A LOT this winter. One of our favorite things to do is snowmobile, probably because we stop and build a fire to roast hot dogs and marshmallows. We also went sledding and built a snowman. I love my family, it was so great to see them so much!

Dog Sledding is awesome! The kids LOVED it. We took my mom for her birthday, but for some reason I can't upload the picture with her in it. Computers hate me. After the Dog Sled adventure we went into Jackson Hole, Wyoming and walked around for a little bit. We had a great time!

2010 Las Vegas Ragnar Relay

Just finished our second Ragnar Relay! I had an incredible time. It is a VERY challenging race, but we did it! I have an amazing team and I love all my friends. I ran almost 19 miles this year and man was it hard. One of my legs was like running up a dried up river bed for 8 miles. It was my favorite leg. Such a great time and I can't wait until next year. NO DOUBT!

Las Vegas Triathlon

A couple weekends ago I participated in the Las Vegas Sprint Triathlon! It was amazing, SCARY, fun and one of the hardest things I have ever done. The pictures are out of order, but we swam half a mile in Lake Mead, biked 20K then ran 5K. My goal was to finish in 2 hours and to not get last. Well, I finished in 1:48 and did not get last!! So happy. I still can't believe I did this and survived. I really thought I would drown. Thanks to Dustin for being so supportive of me learning to swim, learning to bike and running for a year to get ready. Couldn't have done it without him!!

Ross (Dustin's brother) came to Vegas for work and he brought Marlene with him. So while the kids were at school Mar and I ate lunch and hung out at the pool at the Venetian. That night we all went to dinner at Mesa Grill. All of us LOVE this restaurant. Bobby Flay sure knows what he is doing. After dinner we walked around Cesears looked at photography and went to Max Brenner (again) and got some goodies. I got the hot chocolate again. Even though it was 105 degrees outside it is worth it. It is THAT good! It was such a fun day. Miss you guys already!

Max Brenner just opened at Ceasers Palace, so I talked Dustin into going to the Strip (which he hates) to check the place out. The food was pretty good, BUT THE CHOCOLATE was amazing. Best hot chocolate EVER! The truffles are amazing and so is the chocolate pizza.

Every year they have a San Gennaro Feast here in Vegas. We went last year and had fun so we thought we would go again this year. We love us some Italian food. They have tons of food, music, and rides. It was incredibly hot, but we still had a great time.

Swim Lessons

The kids have been taking swim lessons for a year now. It is amazing to see how much better they are now then when we first started. They were terrified of water. Now they are little fish and love every minute of swim lessons. After EVERY turn that Kai has, he gives me a thumbs up.

Walk to the Park

We went to the park at 7:30 in the morning to play Tennis, BUT all the courts were full so we just played around at the park. On our way home we saw a turtle in the middle of the sidewalk. Very strange. We will try to play tennis again in a couple days.

Town Square

They have a really cute park at Town Square Mall so we braved the 113 degree weather and headed to the mall. It was HOT!! We still had fun, but we didn't stay very long. The kids loved putting on a show, going through the maze and playing in the cute houses. Yes, Kai is in sweats AND boots. The boy loves his sweat pants and his boots now smell like Fritos.

4th of July Staycation

We decided to stay in town over the Holiday. We went to the Red Rock Casino/Hotel. We had so much fun swimming, going to Toy Story 3, watching the fireworks and eating WAY to much food. The kids' favorite part as well as mine was the t.v. in the bathroom. So awesome.

On Sunday morning Jocelyn and I ran in a 1k race. Jocelyn got first!! So proud of my little runner, she is such a stud. So much fun to do something like this with her. Kyler also enjoyed the race chillin in the stroller. He told Jocelyn, "good job sis, I proud of you!" So cute.

The kids were looking for something to do so I filled some buckets up with water and well... We went to the YMCA Pool to swim a couple days ago. They had a ton of fun. I was told I couldn't take pictures because it was a public place. What?

Who doesn't LOVE Watermelon in the summer. I know I am weird, but I miss the black seeds in watermelons. Look at those beautiful eyes. Love him.

Dance Recital

My sister got married to an amazing person on June 18th!! Ryan and Sami were married in the Logan, UT Temple then had their reception in Draper at an awesome park. Sami wanted me to make her cake and I was so excited, honored and a little scared to make it. They both loved it...phew. I didn't get many pictures which is weird, but we were busy having fun! Congrats Sam and Ry!! Love ya!

St George: Utah Summer Games

My neices Brei and Cassidy competed in the Utah Summer Games. They both swam and Cassidy also did Arm Wrestling. We had so much fun watching them. They are amazing. Brei placed in many of her events. Good job girlies!!

Cassidy got second place in Arm Wrestling! So much fun to watch. How great is this photo?!? That night we went to Anasazi Steak House for dinner. This place is awesome. The food is amazing and the style of eating is so fun. We had cheese fondue, chocolate fondue and they bring your steak out on a rock and you cook it right at the table. The kids loved it and so did Dust and I. I highly recommend going!

After dinner we went for a night swim at our hotel. As always we have so much fun with our camera. We got to go to Brei and Cassidy's farm in Cedar City to see the animals. Always a kid favorite. After the farm we went to St George Recreation Center to swim. We went down the waterslide atleast 500 times. Gotta love it.

Sprinkler Park

We went to a Sprinkler Park with Andrew and Lauren Ruedas. The kids had so much fun playing in the water and I had a great time talking with Amme. It was 93 degrees outside and the kids still got cold. Go figure.

The kids love their Slip-N-Slide. Kyler loves it so much that he took off all his clothes, put his underwear on his head and went slidin'. I asked him what he was doing and he told me he was snowmobiling with his helmet (underwear). Awesome.

Turks Caicos!!

We just got back from an AMAZING trip to Providenciales part of the Turks Caicos Islands. It was the perfect vacation. We went Kayaking, Snorkeling (with Scuba Steve) and Paddle Boarding. We ate at some very nice restaurants and had incredible food (except for the Conch, so nasty). It was so much fun to eat dinner on the beach and watch the sunset. We rented a jetski and toured some of the island and we saw a shipwreck. We dove for Conch and went to Iguana Island to see the Iguana. We also went Snuba Diving. Awesome! We saw tons of fish, a sea turtle, sea horse, lobster and many other animals. My favorite was the sea star, so HUGE! Some of them were at least 14 inches. The best part was just sitting on the beach and swimming in the ocean. We had an incredible suite and it was so much fun to wake up every morning to the amazing view of the ocean. We had a great time and really didn't want to come back.

My Little Pony Party!

Jocelyn turned 5 on May 28th. FIVE!! She wanted a My Little Pony Party. She loved everything and it was so fun to see her cute little face. My mom and Megan were able to be at the party and she loved that. We had a little party at home and then we went to dinner and to the new Shrek movie. She had a great day! Happy Birthday Jocelyn!!!

Jocelyn was able to have a little friend Pony Party for her Birthday. We went to a little farm and rode a Pony and then went to a park to color their own My Little Ponies. They had a blast.

Volleyball

I went to Iowa last weekend for my brother Clay's graduation from LAW SCHOOL!! I am so proud!!! It was amazing to celebrate this with him. It was also kinda fun to be by myself with no kids. Thanks Dust!!

Drake University!

Dustin and I got Clay a Breifcase. Now he is legit. The whole gang. We went to breakfast at the Machine Shed. Awesome. We ate an amazing breakfast and then had a tractor ride. So Iowa and so fun. How cute is she stuffin her face?? Love her.

It took us 3 days to eat all of this food, but it was delish. So we had WAY too much fun in the water. If any of you know my sisters and I well, we can be very loud and crazy. I now have a six pack from laughing so hard. We also found out that we are not so photogenic under water. I guess you had to be there, but freakin hilarious.

Nevada Natural History Museum

St. George

Dustin had to work in St. George all of last week so we thought we would go see him on the weekend. We went to a Swimming Pool and had a great time.

I got the kids some licorice and it was 10 years old at least. It was funny to watch them eat it.

Dustin took Jocelyn down the "BIG" waterslide. They came out of the slide SO fast! If you look at the picture you can see how fast and how big of a splash they made when they came out. She loved it!

Ragnar Relay October 2009

I was looking through my pictures and came across my pictures of the Ragnar Relay. I didn't post about this race yet so I thought I would. Our team name was NO DOUBT. I had so much fun running with my friends. Together we ran 171 miles through the desert. My first leg was 9 miles (7:30 p.m.), my second leg 2.5 miles (4:30 a.m.) and my last leg was 6.1 miles (3:00 p.m.). It was hard. I got the stomach flu and so it added to the hardness of the race, but I finished and was so happy I accomplished something like this. It really is a crazy thing to do. So much fun. We are running again this year...can't wait!!

Aunt Marlene

Flip N Out, Tennis and Sprinklers

We went to this really cool place called Flip n Out for my friend Renae's daughter's birthday. It had a giant room of trampolines. The kids went crazy when they saw it. Jocelyn would run as fast as she could on the tramps. I told her to jump but she just wanted to run.

I have a dead spot of grass in our backyard so I got the sprinkler out in hopes of bringing it back to life. I also thought the kids would like to play in it. Well crazy me, they didn't want to for some reason. So they just stared at it. Weird. Finally I got Jocelyn to go through it, but she had to do it backwards. So funny.

I am teaching Jocelyn and Kai how to play Tennis. It has been really fun. Love the game and in a few years I will have someone to play tennis with.

Star Valley Day 7

My parents came home in time to celebrate ANIME night. Megan chose it and I still I have no idea what it really is, but we had a fun time. Here's to ANIME night! Star Valley Day 6

While driving around Star Valley the kids saw this huge ice mountain thingy. So we thought we would go check it out. It is huge and they called it an ice castle.

After the Ice Castle we went on a search for some horses. Kai and Jocelyn LOVE horses, love them. It wasn't a very hard search...we found about 100.

Jocelyn and Kase were being so funny playing in the backyard. There is a tiny hill in my parents back yard that they were rolling down. Funny kids.Mikey chose to have a Star Wars themed dinner. Tons of fun!

Star Valley Day 5

The kids thought they were pretty cool "boot skating" on the porch. It may be a little redneck, but it entertained them for a good hour. I made some homeade playdoh and they thought it was awesome. I like this playdo because when Kyler eats it. . . it's not going to do as much damage. We went to see Pom Pom and everytime we go Kai goes for the bucket of animals. He loves them. I used to play with the same ones when I was little. We love going to Pom Poms house.We love playing dress up at Pom Poms. She has some of the coolest clothes. Jocelyn is wearing one of her dresses and it almost fits her!Pom Pom had a cool suitcase in her closet so I made the kids take pictures with it. I told them if they let me take their picture we could see what was inside the suitcase. Well...they did a good job, but we couldn't find the key. We may never know what is inside. They were not so happy with me. Oh well, we got some really cute pictures. We went to go see Aunt Nae and when they went outside the sun was so blinding. So funny. I think this is the 759th picture we have taken with Pom Pom in this chair. Next time we will try the brown sofa.For dinner we had Carnival Night. So we had Animal Crackers, Pretzels, Cotton Candy, Caramel Apples, Popcorn and Chicken Pot Pies. The best meal ever created.Kase is hugging his Cotton Candy. He loves the stuff as much as I do.

Star Valley Day 4

We went to Jackson Hole on Day 4. I love this place! Our first stop was Billy's Burgers. I used to go there all the time in High School. The kids loved watching their Hamburgers cook and they loved the giant size as well. Kai almost ate the whole thing! This kid eats more than me. We walked around and saw tons of stuffed animals. We went to the Ripleys Believe It or Not Museum. Cool place. We ended the day by going to see the Tetons. It was a very cloudy day so you couldn't see them the best but the kids still thought it was cool. The next day Jocelyn asked if we could go back to Jackson. They had SO much fun.

Day 2 was a busy but fun day. Tony had Prom and he asked me to make them lunch. Hopefully they all had a good time. After lunch Mikey and I had a bowling tournament. We did awesome. Mikey is such a good bowler! I had a great time with him. That afternoon we painted some animals and made shrink a dinks. Great time killers. That night we went to the Prom to watch Tony dance. It was a really cute dance and they looked great. After Prom Katlin and I decided to go play pool. We have serious faces in the pictures because we take the game very serious. We had some very close games. So much fun!!

Star Valley Day 1

The kids had a great time playing in the snow. Jocelyn kept saying, "CHRISTMAS! YAY!!" She thought if there was snow it must be Christmas. Nope...just Wyoming. I do realize that the kids are still in their jammies...don't ya know it's Christmas! We had a Monte Cristo Night. Made some masks and ate the best sandwich EVER...the Monte Cristo. What's not to like? Cheese (good), turkey (good), cheese (good), ham (good), cheese (good), bread (good), dipped in batter (good), deep fried (good), powdered sugar (good), raspberry jam (good). Easter was a good one! We dyed eggs, had an egg hunt, decorated hatching easter egg cupcakes, played with "funny" puddy (aka silly puddy) and ate lots and lots of candy. Please excuse my children's skin, we got a wonderful rash from the combo of the swimming pool and sunscreen.

We went to one of my favorite parks on Saturday. Good times. Jocleyn and Kai were checking out the ducks and turtles at the park when they were attacked by a couple of birds. It scared the living daylights out of them! Hilarious.

Cliffs at Peace Canyon

We had a great spring break! Camille (Dusin's mom) got a condo in Peace Canyon so we spent the week with her. Even though it was 10 minutes from our house it still felt like a vacation. Loved it! We swam a TON and got some much needed tan lines. We spent an afternoon on the strip and got to meet Elvis and Jack Sparro. Kyler almost peed himself he was so excited to see Jack. We went to the top of the Eiffel tower, which was so cool. The kids loved being in "outer space". We tried to ride the Gondola, but it was SO BUSY! Hopefully next time. Nice posture kids.Kyler was freezing so he was showing me his chattering teeth.Jocelyns favorite thing to do was jump in the pool. Crazy girl. Jocelyn took this picture of Gargo and I. The kids and I are off to snowy Wyoming tomorrow so goodbye sun! We are watching my younger sibs while my parents are in Hawaii! Hopefully we don't freeze.

We celebrated Dustin's birthday a couple days ago. We had a great time. I made him a cake and put the worst candles EVER on top. They melted all over the yummy frosting. I wouldn't have cared if it had been regular store bought frosting but I am telling you this frosting is GOOD! It is Dustins favorite cake I make. It consists of brownie, best homemade frosting, cheesecake, frosting, devils food cake, and more delish frosting. I know!! That night we went to dinner and to the "O" Show. This show is a MUST SEE!! It is so amazing. We loved it. HAPPY BIRTHDAY DUST!!!

Walking with the Dinosaurs!

We had a great time at "Walking with the Dinosaurs". When the first Dinosaur came out, both of the kids were a little scared, but they got used to it. We kept telling them that they were fake. Just big toys. Even though they looked SO REAL! Jocelyn and Kai LOVED the baby dinosaurs that hatched but were not so impressed when a Dino came and ate one. It was hilarious because Kai gasped then said, "Mom dinosaurs eat. . .babies, plants and other dinosaurs." It was a great night!

Weekend Fun

My phone takes terrible pictures. . . but it was the only camera I had at the time. Some friends and I play volleyball every Friday and some of the kids were gathered around a tiny little movie while we were playing. Thought it was funny. Picnic at the park. Loving the Vegas weather. We had dinner at a restaurant called PARMA. Really good Italian food. I loved listening to the Accordian in the background and eating the yummy antipasto.

Childrens Museum

Jocelyn and her preschool class went on a fieldtrip to the Childrens Discovery Museum. They had a ton of fun! Their favorite part was the hurricane machine. It was hilarious. Some of the kids were scared to death of the wind. Jocelyn and Elizabeth LOVED it. Jocelyn was so cute in the airport part. She went through security and then got on the plane. She thought she was so grown up. Kai loved the giant bubbles and the construction part. The grocery store is always a huge hit as well. Jocelyn told one of the moms that she only got one thing that was FAT. Maybe I need to tone down the healthy talk. It was a fun day of learning and running crazy with 8000 kids.

Town Square Mall Park

Not much fun in the McQuivey house this last week. Dustin has Vestibular Neuritis which causes dizziness due to a viral infection of the vestibular nerve. He has been MISSERABLE!! I feel so bad for him. After a week of sitting in bed with his eyes closed we decided to venture out and see how he did. We went to Town Square an outside mall here in Vegas. We went to Sephora to buy some makeup, and to Borders for books. Then we went to lunch and played in the fun park. We had a great Saturday morning out of the house. He was not feeling so great after all that so he spent the afternoon in bed. I hope he gets over this SOON! Not fun!! Here are some pictures of the kids at the Park. I'm a Big Kid Now!

My baby is a big girl! We got her a twin bed and she thinks it is the coolest thing ever. It takes up her entire room, so she literally has a Bed Room. How cute is she on her bed?!? We also bought her a booster seat. I am still not very comfortable with the idea, but you have to let them grow up sometime. I am in the process of painting and restoring a dresser for her so stay tuned. . .

We went to St. George to see Papa and Gargo (Dustin's parents) for a couple hours while they were enjoying a break from SLC. Always good to see family! We went to Pirate Island for dinner and had a great time. See you soon Gargo and Papa!
